This was the VV's follow-up to their self-titled debut. This album features a maturing of the sound that was forged on their first release. With the help of producer Derek Nakamoto, the band examines the vitality of layering and texturing of their songs. We are also introduced to seductive guitar solos and sounds of Shin Kawasaki. The album journeys through a passage of various musical stylings including jazz, pop, rock and folk. The record culminates with the hauntingly subtle On Mars, which sends a powerful message to the listener about the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
